Girl Scout Home Town Hero Ceremony

Where: Cotton Belt Depot Visitors Center

You are invited to the Girl Scout (Troop 6051) Home Town Hero ceremony on 24 March 2018 at the Cotton Belt Depot Visitors Center!

The Hometown Hero project runs during cookie season every year.  The scouts each pick 1 person from the community that they feel makes a difference in their world as well as others.  They also pick 1 local place they feel makes a difference in the community as well. While they are out selling cookies, all donations are used to purchase boxes of Girl Scout cookies to be presented to their Home Town Heros during this ceremony in March.

The ceremony opens with a flag ceremony, followed by the reading of speeches the scouts have written to explain why they picked their Hero.  They present their gift, and take pictures.

The ceremony closes with the retirement of the flag and refreshments.  It is just a small way for the scouts to say thank you to everyday people who make a difference and may not notice the impact they have on these young scouts and others lives.

All are welcome! Thank you for showing an interest in Troop #6051 and their one small way to help brighten the community.
